The Final, which will decide the first-ever champions of Asia’s premier women’s club competition, will be overseen by Asaka Koizumi of Japan, who was earlier part of the roster for Melbourne FC’s Semi-final tie against Hyundai Steel Red Angels Women’s FC and the latter’s Quarter-final clash against Bam Khatoon FC.

Marking a new chapter for the AFC Referee Academy, Batch 6 featured first-time participants from four Member Associations (MAs), namely, Brunei Darussalam, Macau, Philippines, and Timor-Leste, further demonstrating the AFC’s steadfast pursuit of excellence and determination to nurture refereeing talent across the length and breadth of Asia.

The Morodok Techo National Stadium in Phnom Penh will provide the setting for the showdown between Cambodia's Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng and FC Arkadag of Turkmenistan on Saturday, and will feature an all-Korea Republic line-up.

It is the second time that Al-Jassim has been appointed as the main referee for the Final of Asia’s elite men’s club competition, following the AFC Champions League™ 2020 finale between Persepolis FC and Ulsan HD FC.

The Asian contingent will feature Yuchi Hatano of Japan, Ibrahim Al Raeesi of the United Arab Emirates, Fallah Al Balushi of Oman, and Uzbekistan’s Nayim Kosimov — all of whom officiated at the recently concluded AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup™ in Thailand this March.

The Asian refereeing cast, drawn from five Member Associations, was confirmed today as part of a 117-strong contingent that will officiate at the inaugural edition of the tournament in the United States.

Organised in collaboration with the Bhutan Football Federation (BFF), the programme served as a pre-season preparatory course for match officials, equipping them with enhanced technical knowledge and physical fitness to ensure maximum readiness ahead of the Bhutan Premier League 2025.

The 2025 edition of the competition will take place from April 3 to 20 across the vibrant cities of Taif and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, with 2012 winners Uzbekistan and 1998 champions Thailand locking horns at the Okaz Stadium in Taif in the opening match.

Taking place from March 16 to 19, the course served as an opportunity for appointed referees to refresh their knowledge on the latest best practices, reinforcing the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) commitment to upholding the highest refereeing standards.

The programme, spanning four days, brought together 20 representatives from 17 MAs, providing them with a platform to enhance their refereeing expertise through a carefully curated curriculum designed to evaluate their theoretical knowledge, practical application, and physical fitness.

Spanning five days, the course was attended by a total of 34 participants, 17 of whom were recently added to the FIFA International List as Video Match Officials (VMOs).

Taking place from January 13 to 17, the module engaged officials in a series of training sessions, both theoretical and physical, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to uphold the integrity of the beautiful game with utmost precision.
