Zeca: ‘Irreplaceable’ Cesinha is Daegu’s greatest-ever player

Daegu: Zeca has heaped praise on countryman Cesinha, describing his Brazilian teammate as the greatest player in Daegu FC’s history ahead of the Korean side’s AFC Champions League™ 2022 Round of 16 clash against Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors on August 18.

Injury ruled Cesinha out of the group stage back in April when Zeca enjoyed a continental debut to remember, scoring six goals to help his new team finish on top of Group F and advance to the knockout rounds for the second successive year.

PSM Makassar defeat Kedah Darul Aman to book ASEAN Zonal final berth

Bali: Indonesia’s PSM Makassar moved into the ASEAN Zonal Final of the AFC Cup™ 2022 on Tuesday after Bernardo Tavares’ side handed Kedah Darul Aman a 2-1 defeat despite playing the final 28 minutes at Bali’s Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium with only 10 men.

Yakob Sayuri put Makassar ahead in the 31st minute and Yuran Fernandes doubled the lead nine minutes after the restart before the central defender was sent off for a second bookable offence. Fayadh Zulkifli claimed a late consolation for Malaysia's Kedah four minutes from time.
 
PSM will face Vietnamese side Viettel or Kuala Lumpur City from Malaysia, who meet in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday, on August 24 for a place in the Inter-Zone Semi-finals next month.
